Abundance Elected Leaders Network

A community for leaders who get results

We’re looking for the local leaders who deliver results

Policymaking is the starting line, problem solving is the finish line.

We’re looking for local leaders who ask “What does our community need more of and what is stopping us from getting it?” Our members care about the details and results after legislation passes. If this sounds like you, our program will connect you with a peer network of leaders turning bold ideas into better outcomes.

Our program serves local elected leaders: mayors, councilmembers, alderpersons, county supervisors, and other local officials already pursuing Abundance in their communities.

Aftab Pureval

Mayor
Cincinnati

“This group of leaders is well-positioned to offer insightful and meaningful feedback that will allow Cincinnati to continue to advance.”

Leirion Gaylor-Baird

Mayor
Lincoln, NE

“I joined to learn from and share with peers about how we create public trust in government; how we make government better, stronger, faster and more worthy of that trust; how we can remove barriers to achieve successful outcomes.”

Sue AnderBois

Councilmember
Providence, RI

“I often joke that I am much more of a workhorse than a showhorse because I would much rather do the work behind the scenes to accomplish things than just give a speech about it.”

Khara House

Councilmember
Flagstaff, AZ

“I aim to make tangible changes at the municipal level by carefully assessing our current policies and seeing where they may have caused harm or created barriers in the past, to reform and develop new policies for a stronger future for our community.”

John Hines

Vice Mayor
Tacoma, WA

“I want to be part of a network that fosters mutual support and collaboration, where we can share strategies for overcoming obstacles, explore innovative policy solutions, and develop a collective strength to push for progress.”

Dalia Palchik

Supervisor
Fairfax County, VA

“I joined Abundance Elected Network to improve my knowledge of policy and best practices, and to connect with like-minded policymakers across the nation.”

What makes an Abundance Elected?

Implementation & Outcomes-Obsessed

You foster a culture of trust and learning with staff, using data as a guide, not a scoreboard. You see passing a policy as the start of the race, and successful implementation as the finish line.

“In Missoula County, we took our DMV wait time from one hour to 3 minutes. Our DMV has a 97% customer satisfaction rating. That’s how government should work for people.”

Tyler Gernant

Clerk and Treasurer
Missoula County

Supply-Side Minded

You work to expand availability of public goods. Many of our members focus on creating housing, childcare, clean energy and transportation options.

“In my time on Boulder City Council, I’ve worked to expand housing options through rezoning, simplifying development rules, and legalizing ADUs and multi-unit homes.”

Aaron Brockett

Mayor
Boulder, CO

Courageous, Curious & Humble

You prioritize the best outcomes over politics and stay open to learning and iteration.

“I’m a firm believer that “the more you know, the more you realize you don’t know.” I believe this attitude helps listen to learn, and perhaps evolve or improve understanding.”

Jordan Morales

Councilmember
Boise, ID
